At The Private Dental Centre, our team of incredible dental nurses are highly qualified and experienced as well as being friendly and calm to make sure you are as comfortable as possible before, during and after your appointment.
Primarily, the role of a dental nurse is to assist the dentists and dental therapists. During appointments, they will pass instruments and equipment to the dentist or therapist, prepare and mix dental materials, such as fillings or help to remove excess saliva and fluid from the patient’s mouth using a suction device. They may also take X-rays of your mouth.
In addition, our dental nurses are focused on providing the highest level of care by always putting your interests first.
They will greet and welcome you, provide reassurance if you feel apprehensive and help to address any concerns or questions you might have during your appointment. Sometimes they are there just to hold your hand if that is what’s needed!
Our dental nurses are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the dental surgeries to maintain our strict levels of cross-infection control. They ensure all our dental instruments are thoroughly cleaned and sterilised in our dedicated decontamination room and that the right tools are prepped and ready for each patient to maintain a smooth flow of appointments throughout the day.
They are also responsible for maintaining accurate patient records and documenting essential information during treatments.
