Introduction
The demand for facial aesthetic treatments continues to grow in the UK, with over half a million treatments thought to be administered in 2022.
Increasing amounts of people are starting to add non-surgical procedures into their regular beauty routines and therefore we are delighted to offer Botox and dermal filler treatments at The Private Dental Centre with our dentist Dr Kelly Chambers;
Kelly, who joined the practice in November 2023, has a diverse background in dental care which allows her to provide exceptional dental services and facial rejuvenation treatments. She is also incredibly passionate about advocating for the reasons why people should always choose a medical professional to administer these types of treatments.

Botox and dermal fillers – what are they and what is the difference?
Botulinum toxin, more commonly known as Botox, is used to smooth out lines and wrinkles by preventing a specific muscle from working /moving for a brief period, usually around 3-6 months, although this depends on the patient.
A popular use of Botox is for the smoothing of crow’s feet, forehead lines, frown lines and vertical lip lines but it can also be used to help with headaches, excessive sweating, a gummy smile or jaw slimming, clenching and grinding.
Once the Botox treatment has been given, it can take 2-3 days to start working and between 2-3 weeks to see the full effect. Kelly will offer you a review appointment approx. 2 weeks after the treatment and administer any top-ups if needed. Top-up injections are included in the fee.
Dermal fillers work by plumping up areas and even out creases using a hyaluronic acid formula. The formula keeps water in the skin’s dermis and helps to stimulate the body’s own natural collagen production. These fillers last between 9-18 months.
Dermal fillers are mostly used for lip enhancements for those looking for plumper lips or cheek augmentation where the filler is used to restore volume and give more definition to the natural cheekbone structure.
Consultation and treatment
Before any treatment is given, Kelly will see you for a bespoke no-obligation consultation.
A consultation fee of £50 will be taken at booking which will be deducted against any treatment you go on to have.
The consultation is a chance for you to discuss treatment options with Kelly as well as any concerns you may have. Often, treatment will be offered at the same appointment, or you might want to go home and think about it before you go ahead.
During the treatment, Kelly will cleanse the area and then inject the Botox or dermal filler with a fine needle.
It’s important to note that not all patients are suitable for dermal fillers and Botox. If you are feeling unwell, have a skin infection, taking certain medications, pregnant or breast-feeding or have a neuromuscular condition then it may not be possible for you to have treatment.

Why is it important to choose a medical professional to administer facial aesthetic treatments?
As with any surgical or non-surgical procedure, there is still an amount of risk to consider. The facial aesthetics industry is still largely unregulated so it’s extremely important to make sure that whoever is administering your treatment is as qualified as possible.
Dr Kelly Chambers is a qualified and highly skilled medical professional. As a dentist, she has an in-depth understanding of facial anatomy and therefore will be able to administer injections effectively whilst being able to recognise and deal with any complications that may arise from the treatment.
She also has the proper insurance requirements to be able to offer these treatments.
If you would like to learn more about our facial aesthetic treatments or would like to book a no-obligation consultation* please call our practice on 01205 352892.
*Our facial aesthetic treatments are only available to existing patients of The Private Dental Centre. Our non-obligation consultation appointments are £50, which is redeemable again the cost of any facial aesthetic treatments you go on to have.
